GAeF mourns the death of its long-time president Prof. Dr. Helmuth Horvath, who passed away during the night of October 24-25, 2022.

This year's award winners of Fuchs Memorial Award, Smoluchowski Award, Schmauss Award & GAeF PhD Award have been announced at the 11th International Aerosol Conference in Athens

The election committee is happy to announce the Result of Board Election 2022-2024. Please read the attached communication.

In a letter dated 05.08.2022, the District Court of Cologne informed us that the statutes adopted by the General Assembly on 06.10.2021 were entered in the Cologne Register of Associations (VR20419) as of 04.08.2022. Thus the new statutes are valid since 04.08.2022.

GAeF financially supports students to participate at the International Aerosol Conference 2022 organized as hybrid event ​by the HAAR (Hellenic Association for Aerosol Research) in Athens (Greece). Online participation is supported to the extent of the participation fees.

Today instructions for nomination of candidates for the next board were sent out via Email. Please contact election@gaef.de in case you have not received this communication or in case of additional questions. The deadline for nomination is June 15th.

Share your achievements in the field of Aerosol Science within and outside the GAeF Community via our website. Just send an e-mail to webmaster@gaef.de with the relevant information and we will get back to you shortly.

The biennial elections for the GAeF Board are due this year, which we intend to hold via a secure online platform. We encourage you to use this opportunity to stand as a candidate. We will also need to form an election committee (which must not include any member of the current Board or a candidate standing for election). If you are interested in supporting GAeF in this important step, please contact us. The application deadline is on 20 February, 2022.

The UK and Irish Aerosol Society is organizing a seminar series on ‘Covid-19 and related inhalational infections: Current trends, future challenges and opportunities in aerosol science’.

We proudly announce that Dr. Minna Väkevä is our invited speaker for YIN2020 on the topic YIN meets industry: A degree in science rocks – also in a company.

In the context of the online EAC 2020, a scientific panel discussion on the topic „Aerosols and COVID-19“ will take place on Thursday, September 3, from 6 – 8 pm. An expert panel will discuss the latest state of knowledge regarding COVID-19 and aerosols. The event will also be broadcast in a livestream.
