About GAeF

The "Gesellschaft für Aerosolforschung e.V." (GAeF) was founded in 1972 in order to promote all areas of aerosol research, to provide information on an interdisciplinary basis amongst members and the public, to provide an international forum for collaboration and support scientific education and teaching at all levels. GAeF has members from all over the world and encourages aerosol scientists to join the society.

GAeF invites scientists working in aerosol science and related areas to join the society.

As a GAeF member, you can take advantage of the following services:

  • EAA (European Aerosol Assembly) annually holds an aerosol conference usually hosted by an institute working in aerosol science. Conference papers are published in a special issue of the Journal of Aerosol Science.

  • There are reduced conference fees for members

  • The membership fee is moderate and includes the subscription for the Journal of Aerosol Science. There are special membership fees for students.

  • EAA and GAeF meetings, international affairs of the association, and news from aerosol science are announced from time to time in the Journal of Aerosol Science.

  • Aerosol related products and publications can be exhibited during the annual conference of EAA.

  • GAeF has institutes, companies and other organizations as supporting members.

  • GAeF organizes and supports workshops and short courses in aerosol science.

  • GAeF supports student members by travel aids to GAeF, EAA and international aerosol conferences.

  • The Smoluchowski Award will be given to young aerosol scientists every year.

  • GAeF sponsors 1/3 of the Fuchs Award of the International Aerosol Association
